The Power of Words

Young authors, especially those in the adolescent years, often have big stories to tell. They are learning to make meaning of their experiences, to process the chaos and create calm. They are learning to connect with others in healthy ways and writing can serve that purpose. They can use writing as a way of finding and sharing their voices.
But...sometimes they lack the confidence and support in knowing just
how to tell those stories.
So...this summer writer's workshop series is for them.

Each writer will have weekly engaging lessons, connections, and assignments, experience the wonder of noticing, exploring, and experimenting with techniques for storytelling, using other authors' works to unpack the craft, learn to "read like a writer", critique and confer, and submit at least two revised pieces to a portfolio for the Scholastic Art and Writing Contest.
Space is limited to 10 participants.

Cost: $249 for the seven-week workshop series
* Each writer should have google account before the class begins.
